Doodles are terrific family dogs, great with children, and friendly to other dogs and people. They need a moderate amount of exercise, and their coats are generally low maintenance.</div> </div> </div> <p class="bodytext"><b>Media coverage has made the  Labradoodle something of a star in the last few years</b>. For example, the cover story of the 10/8/2004 LIFE magazine asked if the Doodle is "The Perfect Dog?", and on 9/29/2004 CBS broadcast a video about Doodles in the "Early Show" with Harry Smith featuring photos from Jersey Doodle! We take extra measures to ensure and promote the health of our dogs by testing all of our breeding dogs' hips, via either <a target="_blank" href="http://www.offa.org"> OFA</a> or <a target="_blank" href="http://www.pennhip.org"> PennHIP</a>, and eye disorders via <a target="_blank" href="http://www.vmdb.org/history.html"> CERF</a> exam. We also selectively screen for <a target="_blank" href="http://www.offa.org/sainfo.html"> SA</a>, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_von_willebrand_s_disease.html"> vWD</a>, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_addison_s_disease.html"> Addisons</a>, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_hypothyroidism.html"> Thyroid</a>, and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canine-epilepsy.com/dnaresearch.html"> Epilepsy</a>. All our puppies have their health carefully monitored, are given <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dpd/parasites/ascaris/prevention.htm"> preventative deworming</a>, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_coccidia.html"> coccidia</a> and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canismajor.com/dog/giardia.html"> giardia</a> treatments, and are current on all their vaccinations when they go home with you.</p> <p class="bodytext"><b>ALL  Labradoodle pups</b> go home with a microchip. This remarkable computer chip has a unique identification number programmed into it. The device is small enough to fit inside a hypodermic needle and is simply injected under the skin where it will stay for the life of the animal. This provides a permanent, positive identification which cannot be lost, altered, or intentionally removed. If your dog is ever lost and found, the first thing any vet or shelter will do is scan the neck area for the Avid chip's code, and with the code they can easily locate the owner.</p> <p class="bodytext"><b>Allergies:</b> It is impossible to test your allergy response with our puppies or breeding dogs because dander is present everywhere.
